David has seen the evolution in the world of IT from hardware like bricks to the tiny microprocessors and cloud computing of today. Even when he was a schoolboy in Durban, South Africa, David loved working with computers, so much so his teachers would ask him to fix their computers before going to the school’s technical support. For a hobby he would build computers and sell them, creating custom builds for teachers and selling them to the school. Fast-forward and he is still doing much the same: listening to his client’s needs, sourcing personalised solutions and pulling together the IT solutions that work for them and their businesses.
David is a hardworking and humble man who really appreciates life in New Zealand and values family time. Having moved to New Zealand with a small family, David now enjoys the large extended family and diverse relationships with all ages and stages.
Before calling New Zealand home, David developed much of his career in London and is trusted by many long-term clients there with their IT systems. Initially he played a key role at the London Development Agency IT department who came together to support the London 2012 Olympics. From there he went to support management consulting services at Celerant Consulting and later Hitachi Consulting. David then created his own business, working with previous colleagues who became his London clients. In London he also oversaw the IT fit-out of a holistic health venue with consulting rooms, restaurant and teaching rooms using the latest IT and multimedia systems. Over time, a finance company and an employee referencing company have also entrusted aspects of their IT to David.
David often sees businesses frustrated that they don’t have the time to invest in IT.
